Hippo introduces Hippo’s feature library to set up your projects

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of Hippo’s feature library to set up your projects. This web app introduces a new and efficient way of setting up your projects using standard components and tools. The app is the result of the two successful public betas of Hippo Essentials earlier this year. Because of the positive reactions on this initiative, we decided to incorporate it in a Hippo archetype. From now on you always and immediately have access to a powerful set of features to add to your new projects and tools that make your life easier.

Alongside this release, we release a completely new Developer Trail on our website. This trail makes extensive use of the feature library and will get you up to speed quickly and easily. Even for seasoned Hippo developers, this trail is interesting as it shows the new and efficient way of setting up your Hippo projects.

Highlights

  • The library contains about 25 components and tools that are available to with your Hippo development environment.

  • The library offers functionality to browse, install and configure features.

  • You can run tools directly from within the setup environment.

This release is a direct result of your and the community’s feedback  Thank you very much for your support. Please continue to contribute to our development in this way. The web app contains a feedback form you can use to reach us directly.

You can find more information about this new way of working in the new developer trail [1] that explains how to set up a project in detail. A quick overview that just shows how to run the archetype can be found at [2]. A demonstration video can be found at [3].

We invite you to try the new project setup yourself, let us know what you think and tell us what improvements you'd like to see included next!
