How to make and use your own CMS 7 project?

In this section, you find pages related to the more logistic aspects of working with your own Hippo CMS 7 project, so not coding, but how to find which versions to use for dependencies and how to make an project export. Below you are referred to pages about setting up your project and coding it.

The easiest way to make a setup for your own Hippo CMS 7 project is to use the Hippo HST 2 archetype. This is a Maven archetype to generate a project to develop a website with the Hippo site toolkit 2. In such a generated project you can also customize or extend the CMS. In case you only want the CMS, you can remove the HST part (the site folder and the module reference to it in the main pom).

See extending CMS 7 for explanations on extending the CMS: changing the user interface, customizing workflow, etc.

We have a tutorial about creating your own Hippo CMS 7 project from scratch: the hello world plugin.
